Notes on choice of institute:

* (1) Please select the MPI or institution you’re affiliated with in the dropdown menu.

If you have been invited as an external user to a team room of the Max Planck Society, please select the entry "Collaboration Partners".

If no entry in the selection applies to you, please choose "Other Users". This way, all persons working for the Max Planck Society can log in regardless of their institutional affiliation.

(2) After you have made your selection, you will be redirected to a login page. Please note there the information about the login data to be used.

This option allows you to perform a classic login with user name and password without using multi-factor authentication.
The login procedure is identical to the procedure already used to log in to the IT services used throughout the MPG.

You can use the options offered here to log in using strong authentication (MFA).
You can use the authenticator variants FIDO2/Passkey, CryptoToken or OTP via the SafeNet Mobile+ App.
The prerequisite is the one-off initial registration of at least one authenticator via the option Manage or create strong authenticators. Instructions for logging in via MPG-SSO can be found here. Instructions for registering authenticators can be found in the IdPortal.
Note: CryptoTokens can only be used by administrative staff. For technical reasons, none of the three options can currently be used by collaboration partners.

You can use this option to make one of the login methods offered above your default login method (i.e. classic login with password, FIDO2/Passkey, CryptoToken or OTP via SafeNet MobilePASS+ app).
For future requests, the method will be used automatically for all access via the device currently in use. You can find instructions on how to use the Login options here.
